If you have a child in primary school, there is a one in four chance that they need help.

 

In Hong Kong, a survey in 2024 by City University of Hong Kong found that 27.4% of primary students experienced moderate to high depression, and 21.6% experienced moderate to high anxiety.

How does your emotions affect your chidren?

A 2016 local study by The Education University of Hong Kong and Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service found that higher parental anxiety significantly increased the likelihood of children facing challenges in learning, social interactions, and self-discipline.

Unfortunately, there’s plenty of room for improvement..

Hong Kong ranks near the bottom globally in family relationship satisfaction as reported by children. Children under 10 in Hong Kong are particularly less likely than those in other countries to agree that their parents listen to them or make joint decisions with them.

Why is chidren's mental health important?

Children are highly vulnerable to mood disorders like anxiety and depression due to disruptions in brain regions responsible for emotional regulation, such as the prefrontal cortex and amygdala, during critical developmental periods
